Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby

2.0

This wasn’t really my cup of tea, for two reasons primarily:
1) The story arc is problematic: two homophobic fathers unleash a campaign of brutal and graphic violence on the people responsible for their gay sons’ murder, sons who only factor in the story as the “excuse” for this violence but remain caricatures rather than characters worthy of exploration.
2) The writing is bland. I really never felt propelled to keep going, never thought I couldn’t put the book down because I needed to know what happens next. Instead, the writing makes reading this book a slog that interfered with following the story.
I ended up skimming most of it instead of actually reading because I just could get that into it.
