George R.R. Martin’s The Ice Dragon is a short and sweet read about an outsider girl who finds her match in an unexpected ally: the ice dragon. It’s an interesting piece of fiction from Martin, who isn’t known for writing children’s books. However, The Ice Dragon contains… ice and dragons—arguably the two most important elements in Westeros.

This story is a great read for children interested in fantasy or for adults waiting on The Winds of Winter.
