I have really mixed emotions about this book. It is such a tough subject and I think the author did a good job of handling it with care. Both Easton and Juliette frustrated me at times but I kept reminding myself that they are teenagers and this is what happens when teenagers do adult things that they aren’t prepared to handle. I also have mixed feelings about the ending. I have personally seen teenage parents handle this both ways (adoption versus keeping the baby) with very different outcomes and I’m just not sure how I feel about the choice that was made here. I do wish there had been a little bit more focus on grace after mistakes. The families did come together to help but I really struggled with how Easton treated Juliette in the beginning, as if she was the only one that made the choice that lead to pregnancy. I think there is some good messaging here but there were a couple of places that bothered me.
