I put off reading this for a while, due to the not objectionable but very different from the comics artwork; but I'm so glad I tried it anyway. A well written, not far from the original legend telling, Thompson paints a vivid picture of how Diana was raised - and why, and a believable starting point for her commitment to bring only justice and kindness to others. The artwork is bright and appropriate to a story involving a paradise-like island, and you enjoy it feeling it's not so much a 'Wonder Woman' story as a well-told story.
