Set on You by Amy Lea
4.0
I love stumbling upon an author published by a big American house who is secretly Canadian! We don't have any romance/women's lit publishers here in Canada, so Canadian authors usually get downplayed and their settings are often in America.
Set on You was a fun debut that reflected on self-image that comes out of social media use, especially as an influencer, and the fine line walked between messages of positivity (in this case, body positivity) and being authentic while on online platforms. It's something we are certainly grappling with individually and as a society, so this book was very timely in that sense. The story was also fresh and fun.
I'm going to read Amy Lea's next novel soon — perhaps this summer at a beach!
