Winter King: Henry VII and the Dawn of Tudor England by Thomas Penn

4.0

“they confirmed the association of one family's name with the crown of england. the tudor dynasty had begun.”

it has taken me a while to actually review this- i may or may not have forgotten. sorry!

a HEAVY, HARD read. but so worthwhile.

for penn’s debut novel, this is extraordinary. henry vii, the forgotten tudor king, has such an fascinating history that i am personally very interested in, and this was a wonderful introduction to him.

penn’s style of writing, is both anecdotal and academic. an interesting blend that i did struggle to adapt to, but i have never really read books like this before, and i loved the challenge.

considering there are quite little resources about henry vii, i’m glad this book exists!
