Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

3.0

I knew nothing of this book when it was chosen for our book club to read in October. I found it difficult to get into at the beginning, but that went away as I got deeper into the book. Overall, I thought the book was not bad, just not something I really cared about. I liked the humor, and the Gideon character was interesting to me.

This struck me as a really long introduction or set up to a whole other book, actually. A setup that may be too much work for some people, and understandably so.

I can't say for sure if I will continue on, though I'm tempted to try at least one more book.

The underpinning / logic of the book I found a little slight and underdeveloped, but that could be in the name of keeping mysteries for the rest of the series. I don't know.

Overall, it was fine. I've read books that touched me more, and I've read a lot worse than this.
