Court of Nightmares was... interesting. Let me start by saying, if you’re looking for plot, this is not the book for you. The plot was damn near non-existent. I mean, there was one there... somewhere, but who the hell could pay attention to it with ALL THE DAMN SMUT? Like, OMG—smut here, smut there, SMUT EVERYWHERE.
But here’s the thing: I’m not even mad about it. It can’t be easy to have a book that’s over 500 pages filled to the brim with smut and somehow keep it from getting repetitive. That takes creativity, imagination, and talent, and this author delivered. The scenes were constant, but they were varied and well-written, which kept me turning pages, biting my lip, and giggling like a freaking nut.
This is a Why Choose Romance with Vampires, Shifters, Monsters, and everything in between. It’s paranormal, but not necessarily dark, although some elements definitely leaned that way. It had hints of revenge and plenty of tension, but again... the plot was not the point here.
Each of the MMC had an adorable nick name for the FMC and I loved the besties. I even got the feels once or twice. There was also found family and omg... THE FEELS. there was one super sweet moment I was NOT expecting that emotional wave, and it hit me.
