Boyfriend Material

This book was like Bridget Jones’s Diary only if Hugh Grant was dating Colin Firth. With a side of dung beetles. Although a bit of a Red, White & Blue rip off (which I think I liked a shade better) it featured two very different very British leading men: a Darcyesque officious stuffy lawyer and a melodramatic shameless D list celeb. Somehow, Luc grew on me hugely and this book managed to be both tenderly romantic and pretty funny thanks to a hysterical cast of friends and co-workers. Although the ending wrapped abruptly (I feel like there should have been like 3 more chapters there) it was a delight to read.
“...if we let happy things make us unhappy when they stopped, there would be no point having happy things!”
