The Eighth House: Hades & Persephone by Eris Adderly

4.0

I wanted to read The Eighth House as soon as I saw it shared on social media. I love Hades and Persephone so much, they’re my favorite couple from Greek Mythology, so if a book is about them, chances are I’ll want to read it. I had high expectations for The Eighth House as a result and this book didn’t quite get there for me unfortunately. I did enjoy reading it for the most part, but I felt there was a bit too much of a physical component to Hades and Persephone’s relationship and not enough of an emotional one that didn’t have anything to do with their activities in the bedroom.

It probably normally wouldn’t be that big a deal to me, but I think I read this book at the wrong time. I had just finished a series that had been a long-time coming for me and I doubt anybody could have compared to that series couple, their story was beyond amazing and even Hades and Persephone didn’t stand a chance. That being said, The Eighth House was a good read. I think Ms. Adderly’s writing was really great and I’d like to read her again.
