Going into this book, I wasn’t quite sure I’d like it. It took a few attempts of picking it up before I got really invested; the middle and ends of the novel transcend the beginning by quite a bit, I think. I haven’t found myself so engrossed in trying to figure out the puzzle of a story in quite some time. I think the way this novel handles varying identities and the idea of grappling with change— not only in one’s personal life, but also in your surroundings— was very graceful and respectful. All of the various elements of foreshadowing wrap up together quite nicely in the end.
I found myself quite satisfied with the ending, despite it being so bittersweet.
 

I would absolutely recommend this novel to anyone seeking out an intersection between science fiction and mystery.
