The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan

4.0

I liked this a lot more than I expected I would. I haven't had a great track record with cheesy romances lately. This one was actually fairly well thought out; there wasn't that horrible repetitiveness of the MCs thinking the same dull thoughts. There was actual character growth before the very end of the novel! The 'rake' was actually a decent man for once; a kind, supportive gentleman - there was nary a ''mine, ALL MINE,' he thought possessively' or him telling the woman exactly what she was going to do because he was always right, yada yada. It was quite refreshing, and that probably added to my enjoyment of this book more than there would normally have been. I wasn't super interested in the rest of the Brothers Sinister synopses, but I may check those books out now (or at least some of Milan's other work).
