How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need by Bill Gates

4.0

Great primer for someone like me, who is reading about climate change for the first time. The book’s writing style is very simple—something a 5th grader could read—which could feel a bit weird, but I do think that helped the book avoid being too dense on a topic that probably can get technical fast.

Bill Gates puts a definite positive spin on the situation, which I’m pretty sure is probably overly rosy relative to the actual situation, but, nonetheless, it makes for an uplifting “we can do it” read…. better than evoking a “we’re screwed, no point in trying” sentiment.
