I remember watching this movie when I was quite young and the magic of it has stuck with me for 40 years. I was thrilled to discover it as an audiobook available at my library and had high hopes for the story.  The beginning was just as magical as I remembered but I lost interest as the book progressed,  probably because it's a 150 year old children's book that seems to go on and on, meandering through one adventure after another with the intent of impressing upon children the need to be 'good' and God-fearing.  I guess I've checked it off my list, at least.
