Unwanted instantly captivated me from page 1. It begins with a heartbreaking story of survival and as the story progresses we gain mystery, intrigue, sadness, love, and found family.
The story is unique with a MMC that is a Mowgli/Tarzan mix, but lives in the mountains instead of the jungle. I was unsure how I felt about Lucas at first, but he grew on me quickly.
The reason this story is 3 stars is the mystery and thrill that kept me captivated died off about halfway through. It felt a bit too focused on the romance and not enough on the mystery. I struggled with knowing which part of the story was meant to be the plot. The mystery or the romance? If the story had been a bit more cohesively tied together, I would’ve enjoyed it more.
Overall, for it being my first Mia Sheridan novel, I enjoyed it and I look forward to reading her other books. I’m also open to continuing this series as it progresses. There’s a lot of promise!
