I enjoyed this book. It had all the dressings of a popcorn thriller. Red herrings (but not too many), shady characters, police that can't (or won't) help, and a private investigator who solves a seemingly impossible case.
Hazel was a typical PI character. She digs way too hard, pokes her nose everywhere, and gets herself into trouble. I usually don't figure out who did it, but I did with this one. It wasn't wildly predictable, so it was still a fun read, but just predictable enough to still feel satisfied with the conclusion.
Possible spoilers
Content warnings, attempted SA on page, child abuse, child molestation (implied but not directly on page) and drugging of women and children.
3.5 🌟
