After my success with the last book I was so excited to pick this book up and continue with the adventure that was unfolding. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. Book 4 (the last book) was supposed to be the start of a new trilogy within this series. But that book was still continuing with the story from the previous 3. This book just left that story dangling and completely opened a new story with new characters. So now we have two ongoing stories that are kind of connected. Also, for a book about Mother Gothel, she was barely in this book. So many other characters like Mrs. Pickle ( no I’m not kidding that was her actual name) were introduced with no significance and had a point of view in the story only to be killed with no consequence. This book is so far the longest book and the series and most of it was unnecessary. I would much rather another book be longer than this one because all the other ones are building to something and this one just did nothing. 400 pages of nothing important to the overall plot of this series.
