A Death at the Party by Amy Stuart

Thank you to Simon & Schuster Canada for the ARC of this one!

The Death at the Party is a slow burn suspense novel - more of a domestic suspense rather than a thriller. We begin with a dead body, and then we flashback to earlier, and are brought through Nadine, the narrator's day as she prepares to throw a party.

While the narrative slows at some points, I never felt bored and the stayed engrossed throughout the book waiting to see who would be the victim. There are a few different stories thread throughout, flashing back to Nadine's childhood, and touching on her daughter's life as well .I liked that the novel was really a story of several generations.

Many trigger warnings for this one so definitely take a look at those ahead of reading!
