The Kill Artist by Daniel Silva
4.0

Love stories are the proverbial fly in the ointment of spy novels. One of the many things that made Silva's "The Unlikely Spy" so great was that the romantic entanglements of the plot never halted it from moving forward. Whereas if you make but a few changes to "The Kill Artist," you'd have a full blown romance novel masquerading as an espionage tale. Now don't get me wrong, this was a good book and I enjoyed it. I'll definitely be plowing through the Gabriel Allon series at some point soon. Nevertheless, I hope future ones are less on romance and more on plotting.
