I say this with everything in me, if you are at all sensitive to disturbing content please check trigger warnings for this book before you read it. This book broke me a little. I am not someone who is very sensitive to reading dark things, but this one hit me and I am left reeling from the heavy emotional weight of this book. This is the kind of literary horror that really works for me. It doesn’t shy away from its gravity. It’s written in a way I personally find really beautiful and heart-wrenching. I found the characters lovable in all their flaws. I loved the diversity and representation. I don’t think this book will work for everyone, but honestly what book does? I loved it.
