The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch, Volume One, Volume 1: At the Edge of Empire by Daniel Kraus

5.0

This was a wild ride. It falls into that strange genre of horror that is twisted and macabre without being truly frightening (except a few points where I was generally breathless). I adore this genre and honestly don't find many books that scratch that itch. I was fascinated from page one and the book just got better with each passing story. It seem lesser wove together several different episodes in the leads life in a way that maintain interest even with a constantly shifting supporting cast. No easy feat. There were some things I didn't care for but really that was preference over style.
