My once-upon-a-time favourite book. I'm not sure if this is still my favourite but it's definitely up there. Reasons:

- THE MARAUDERS!!! What more do I have to say
- One of the best forms of time travelling in fiction, honestly
- Chocolate is a cure-all
- Dementors are genuinely terrifying (and by extension, so is Azkaban)
- Remus Lupin is the bestest boy ever
- The start of the extremely short-lived Sirius/Harry relationship :(
- This is more of a movie thing, but Harry screaming "EXPECTO PATRONUM" gives me chills
- Patronuses (Patronii?) are super cool
- 'I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good' 'Mischief Managed'

- When the Marauders' Map hurled those insults at Snape 😭
- Harry finally snapping at the Dursleys and running away, you slay boy
- Harry living alone in Diagon Alley, you keep slaying boy
- The Knight Bus and Stan Shunpike
- Introduction to Hogsmeade
- Hermione slapping Draco in the good old face
- Wholesome Hagrid moments <s>when he's not trying to kill his students unintentionally</s>
- Pretty cover
- The Quidditch matches, and Gryffindor winning the cup
- 'Harry! Simply splendid to see you, old boy.' 'Marvellous. Absolutely spiffing.' 'Mum! How really corking to see you'
- Percy the Prefect shenanigans
- Fred and George's entire existence, but that's the highlight of every book
