When your therapist gives you a book to read, you should probably read it. I studied attachment theory in children during my psychology degree but I hadn't really thought about it again until I was told to read this one.
I've given it a fairly high rating because I think it does a good job of explaining the attachment styles and breaking them down quite clearly. However, there does seem to be a strong bias towards anxious attachment styles. If you're avoidant, get ready to feel bad about yourself. If you happen to have a disorganized attachment style (i.e. anxious-avoidant. Oh heyyy, it's me!), then have fun reading the one line in the whole book where they mention it.
It's an easy read, but it did make me think twice about myself, my past relationships and what I want in the future. Definitely worth reading, but don't expect to find all the answers to your relationship problems here.
