A really interesting lens through which to view Austen and literature in general. I greatly enjoyed the insights into the rare book trade and appreciated how open the author was with her own misconceptions and oversights concerning the women authors who came before Austen. It was really illuminating to see both the effect they had on Austen's writing and the various reasons why they have been lost to history while she has been held up through the centuries as a paragon of English literature.
