I’m going to keep this really brief, because I really respect and commend Addison Beck for taking her experiences with mental health and writing them into a story that means a lot to her. I think that’s really brave and vulnerable, and I just love her as a writer in general.

I think if I knew this story was going to be about bipolar disorder, I probably wouldn’t have read it. I truly didn’t know that’s where the book was headed until it was revealed at the 80%-ish mark.

Because of my own experiences with this disease and because they are so widely different from this story, I just couldn’t enjoy this once I found out what was going on.

Everyone has their own experiences, and everyone’s are 100% valid. So this is not me saying anything that was portrayed was wrong. I’m just saying that mental health is a very subjective topic and my own experiences are the reason I didn’t love this like I wanted to.

I still adore both Avery and Sebastian, and am looking forward to book three!
