The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter

4.0

I’m not going to lie, Carter’s feminist twist to so many beloved fairy tales is uncomfortable, but so necessary. The sexuality, vulnerability, and detailed description of her stories really got to me. Opened my eyes to a different kind of feminism that I haven’t particularly dabbled into.
Some of them were a little bit difficult to follow because of her rich prose (which is just a personal problem), but that prose did touch me dearly. Genuinely read this book if you’re into second wave feminism, and women’s sexuality.
