jillx08 's review for:
We Could Be Rats
by Emily Austin
Emily Austin does it again! She so flawlessly writes “stream of consciousness” character inner dialogue - chaotic but understandable, insanely relatable. I have not read a book that captures the ruminating conflict of suicidal ideation and desire to be happy as well as this. This was a great book to read, and at a perfect time for me. As another reviewer stated, the book did seem to end in the middle of the plot’s falling action—there wasn’t much in terms of resolution. I wanted more. But I certainly understand and can appreciate the reasoning, as doing so showed the conflict and beauty of healing.
