Okay, this book? Absolute perfection. It has everything… Drama, scandal, backstabbing, fierce rivalries and characters that make terrible decisions.
At the center of it is Kat Shaw, a fiercely determined ice dancer who’s spent her life chasing greatness. She’s got talent, drive, and a partner who’s more than just that. Heath Rocha isn’t just her skating partner, he’s her person. Their chemistry is undeniable, both on and off the ice, but their bond is constantly tested.
And then there’s the whole rival-family dynamic because, of course, Kat and Heath aren’t just competing for medals, they’re up against Bella and Garrett, Sheila Lin’s kids who by the way is Kat’s childhood idol. Add in the pressures of a tell-all documentary and some seriously cutthroat politics, Kat and Heath’s love story isn’t just about romance, it’s about survival. The push and pull between their love and their ambitions is so well done and it makes every moment between them feel electric.
The writing? Sharp. The tension? Thick enough to skate on. The characters? Messy, petty and absolutely addicting to watch unravel. If you’re in your toxic relationship era and want a book that feels like watching the most dramatic show ever, grab this one ASAP. It’s got that “just one more chapter” energy, where before you know it, you’re up way past your bedtime… This is pure, unfiltered drama. The Favorites is a must-read. Five stars, no hesitation!
