A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
4.0
Overall thumbs up for me for this well-written story of a man "imprisoned" in a fancy hotel with the backdrop of the revolution in Russia and beyond adding to the intrigue. Some slow parts and probably longer than it needed to be, but that didn't detract from the diverse, engaging cast of hotel characters and their relationships, particularly the gentleman and his "daughter." The history of Russia for most of the 20th century was viewed through this interesting window. Read out loud one beautifully-written scene of juggling that used a metaphor of the solar system to describe the expertise of the juggler. Even played the categories game on our next car ride! Something for everyone.
