The New Teen Titans Volume 3 collects issues 17-20 along with the mini-series Tales of the New Teen Titans #1-4, and an introduction by Len Wein, editor of the series and part of the original idea to bring back the Titans.

For the numbered issues themselves, they were all stand-alone stories. They were okay; in two of them there was more with Kid Flash and getting into his head and learning about his life outside the Titans. The best part was him seeing that the other Titans had insecurities too. I also liked seeing Dr. Light again and the trouble he managed to find himself in.

I absolutely loved the mini-series which delved into the early lives of the new Titans: Cyborg, Raven, Changeling, and Starfire. I learned so much about them I didn’t know and got to delve further into the aspects I was familiar with. Those four issues really help cement the characters in your heart, and the idea that these tales get told to their fellow Titans on a vacation they take together was brilliant! It was a great way to bring the group together outside of their crime-fighting identities and begin their journey as friends.

Another fun ride. I can’t wait to start the next volume with issue #20 having teased the villain who would be revealed next!!
