Would have gave five stars but there’s a 3rd act breakup and him getting back the girl was painfully cringy!
Violet just moved against her will, living with her uncle Luke. She has sworn off jocks, but is dating captain of the hockey team, Jeremy. Violet quickly finds Jeremy cheating on her, but our Rival Darling comes to her rescue when Violet tries to get some revenge on Jeremy’s car:
“I’ve got a couple of hockey sticks in my truck if you want to do some real damage?”
I learned of this on booktok, and didn’t even read the synopsis! I recently haven’t read high school books so I just pretended they were in college.
The third act breakup really got me, and I quickly lost interest in the book. Not to mention the cringey ending…
