This book was way more of a thriller than I originally realized and that surprised me. I thought it was going to be straight literary fiction, so that threw me a little bit. I also ended up reading it concurrently with a the Mysterious Case of the Missing Crime Writer, so I ended up reading two books about missing persons at the same time. However, with all that being said, I did like this book.

Thanks to Penguin Random House for the audio version of this title to go along with the ebook; immersive reading/listening is my preferred method of consuming books, so huge gratitude to them. The audiobook narrator, Saskia Maarleveld, did an exceptional job. Her diction is fantastic and she did a variety of voices to represent the varied cast of characters in the story. The sound mixing and editing were flawless.

This book had more suspense than I usually care for, but it will be perfect for thriller readers. I will recommend this to folks who like Frieda McFadden, Gillian McAllister, Sarah Pekkanen, Greer Hendricks, and similar authors.
