There is a strong reference to religion in this book which is why I didn’t give it a 5. But it did also open my mind to a new way of viewing “God”. This story is very realistic in the way of what our country could look like in 10-15 years and the direction we’re headed. Most dystopian novels are more based in advanced technology and a century or two in the future. Whereas this book is current day, 2024-2027 (written in 1993). It focuses on the economy, climate change, drugs, and corporate debt slavery leading to the downfall of our country and society which is much more realistic.
