Well let me just say THANK YOU to the publishing copy and the Author for this book. I cant even express my enthusiasm about this one it was so VERY good! So now I have to write a review about how I loved it and what I loved about it and the things I did not like. For one you will not hear what I didn’t like, besides that fact I don’t have the next book now and that’s all. I will try to express my feeling for this book in writing but I do so much better if I tell you face to face so here we go!
I FREAKING LOVED IT…LOL the whole thing form the start to the finish and then some. Armentrout knows how to write and writes well and she captured a story in a book that you will be addicted to like I was. Layla is the awesome girl whom we follow she is a half demon/half gargoyle who was raised by the Wardens. The Wardens are the ones who keep the humans safe from the demons. And even though Layla is half of both she is never really accepted, but she doesn’t care she wants to live her good half or at least she thinks it the better half as a Warden.
I love that about her she wants what she wants and she does whatever she needs to have it. Even if that’s not acting on the fact that she wants the one man she can’t, Zayne, the gorgeous Warden she grow up with that she knows she can never have. The one thing keeping her back is the fact that she is a demon and her not so good power from that side is she can’t kiss anything with a soul or she can take it with that kiss. But I like Zayne he really is hot, powerful and very protective of Layne but I could not place how he really felt because he was very hot and cold but I think we will see more from him and all that in the next book and I can’t stinking wait!!!
Then things change; there is action in the demon world and this new beautiful demon named Roth shows up at her school and she just cant figure out what he wants. He wants Layla too and he wants more from her then she knows and is willing to give him. A demon is one thing she can not get involved in and if the Wardens find out, if Zayne finds out her world will change forever and so will what they have between each other. But her and Roth get closer and she finds out there is a lot to why Roth is top level and he needs Layla to understand but her sudden attraction to him and all his amazingness makes it hard. She has only had this kind of feeling for one man, and one man she could never act upon so being able to be this close is scary.
Roth is that good like BIG time!! This guy is funny, a smartass and everything you want in a demon or in a man! I sometimes think the way he is written is like every guy out there and it was awesome. The connection between Layla and Roth was hot and intense and way more. They will fight together and he will uncover things Lylas never knew and things that the Wardens are keeping from her. But I wont tell you if they are good or bad because then it will give too much away.
There is twist and turners things you never seen coming and an ending you will be in shock over. I loved everything about this book the fact that there are 2 men but 2 men you love and can’t seem to figure out who you like better who is in this for the right reasons and not. I loved the fighting the history and the overall story line and plot of White Hot Kiss. There is never a time in the book you will feel let down or bored or anything really just the sheer excitement to get to the next page!
This is a GREAT YA Paranormal read and a MUST MUST read of 2014. I cant wait to get my hands on book 2 I will put what ever I am reading down to read it I need it, I need more ROTH!! I need more demons and gargoyles!
