this was one of the most disturbing things I have read and I read quite a few darker things. I literally couldn’t put the book down it left me feeling like what the actual fuck? It was recommended to me and I will not be recommending it to anyone else because it is so disturbing. Something about this book felt unfinished though. Like I get that it was supposed to be an ambiguous ending but it felt like the author didn’t know where they were going not an intentional decision to end the book like that
. Also was it joint suicide? B/c Andrew and Thomas seemed to die at the end but it is unclear. I also felt that the death of Thomas’s parents was unnecessary because it was never explained! Their death kinda just faded to the background and then got ignored. I also felt that dove being dead was unnecessary because we never really knew her. Instead I think if she had tried to commit s*****de and then was in a mental hospital that would’ve been more impactful. Or maybe if she died at the beginning of senior year and not the end of last year. I also think that Dove wouldn’t have gone into the forest alone so did Andrew kill her or….
