I LOVED this book. I would never read historical fiction on my own, but I heard the author speak about the real person this story was inspired by, and knew I had to read it.
From the first sentence, I was hooked. Learning about Martha Ballard's role in eighteenth century society and the ins and outs of her town had me enthralled. I would read literally anything else written by this author.
