leedemort 's review for:
To Sir Phillip, with Love
by Julia Quinn
emotional
sad
tense
slow-paced
Strong character development:
Yes
Loveable characters:
Yes
Diverse cast of characters:
No
Flaws of characters a main focus:
Yes
Trigger warnings:
Suicide and Abuse
The tone and themes of this book was darker than the previous books. I really like Eloise as a Character. She is strong and just says it as it is and tried to keep a positive attitude. I wasn't all that keen on Sir Phillip.
I felt like the story moved along at a slower pace and the conversation between them did not give me the sense of excitement but it did fit in with the tone the book set out to be and considering the topics brought up in this book.
I did find it started to really bore me whenever Eloise had to keep saying 'I've got 7 brothers and sister...' or 'I have 4 brothers...' it was starting to get on my nerves. We get it please stop saying it.

I really enjoyed the scene between Anthony and Eloise and the one between Sir Phillip and his kids right after he discovers what's been happening
