The brutal, gruesome honesty of this novel, covering sex, art, race, poverty and monogomy, enraptured and exhausted me. This is the most accurate representation of early twenties precarity I've ever read. Imagine Butler's The New Me, or Moshfegh's Year of Rest and Relaxation, with the added bonus of characters with actual personalities.
