I’ll be buying myself a copy. It gave me a much deeper appreciation of our national forests and the people who work to support and preserve those lands. The perspective shared helped in understanding not only a piece of our nation’s history, but the delicate - and often difficult to maintain - balance between industrial, ecological and recreational interests in our forests. While (admittedly) not exhaustive, Greg Peters well written book is a great jumping off point for anyone interested in our federally managed forests, one in which I read many interesting passages aloud to my husband, and one in which I would recommend to others.
