[3.75 stars] cute and sweet! a sapphic romance between two neurodiverse characters that was equal parts heartwarming and emotionally tender. our leads come with heavy backstories including abandonment, loss of a loved one, & semi-toxic friendships/relationships. i thought mazey eddings was able to navigate these topics compassionately and kindly. there was a great balance between learning the inner workings of each character and really appreciating their individual worth, while also seeing how they fit together as a team in this wild scenario & as partners. i did feel like the writing for the first ~40% was somewhat cliche/fanfic cringey to me but i thought it got better as it went. pop culture references always break the illusion of the story an author is crafting for me, and when it’s something as precious as a flower farm, i don’t wanna hear about harry styles!! nevertheless, i loved the coziness of the thistle & bloom and the thought of living on a flower farm has changed the trajectory of my life forever. i will be gardening and having plot after plot of flower beds & veggies!!!
