Full of Life by John Fante

3.0

Lightly comic read, with elements that reminded me of David Sedaris but not as funny or witty. Sometimes I felt that the author/narrator was mean or insensitive, but I also pitied him at other times when he became the victim of his own life's tragedy. I found the wife to be overwhelmingly bitter (blame it on her pregnancy?) and the father to be just comical. Despite outward disappointment in his son, I never doubted his real love for him.
