Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead
4.0

Four stars is probably way too high for the final book in a series where the ending was predictable from book one. And I'm not one to guess endings. But, weirdly, I had quite a lot of fun reading the Succubus books. As frustrating and hypocritical as the characters were, I was begrudgingly drawn to them.

I would've liked to find out more about Jerome and Carter though but I guess their combined mystique was all part of the grand plan.

The side characters were great for comic relief but it was a shame that only Hugh got the chance to show off his three-dimensional chops. Oh and Roman too, but his "transformation" was a bit too difficult to believe.

Georgina was vibrant and then bland and then annoying and then vibrant again, which, for me, made her seem more realistic and as contradictory as it sounds, consistent.

I usually prefer the alpha male and I was a little surprised at how much I enjoyed Seth's character. This last book felt a bit rushed and I think it would have been interesting if the big reveal had been explored more. For the majority of this series he was overshadowed by larger than life supernatural beings but still managed to have moments where his humanity won out.

I don't know much about Richelle Mead but I've heard/read a few opinions that don't paint her in the most flattering light. All I have to say is that I didn't like her treatment of adultery. It's not one of those things that is a hard limit for me but when used so regularly and flippantly it made me question whether or not this great romance was worth believing in. It ended up being quite difficult to buy what she was selling.
