Didn't really enjoy this, unfortunately. I liked the magic system and the conflict about technology set up early in the book, but it went downhill from there. Both protagonists are fairly one-dimensional and naive. I image their narratives will intertwine in later books, but since they do not in this installment it just felt like two novels smashed together.
