This book was tough to read, but it was so impactful and important. I’m glad I read it.
There were sections that made me need to put it down and read something else, and there were sections that had me turning the page as fast as I could. This book challenged my preconceived notions about Afghanistan, and I’m so grateful for that.
This is definitely a character driven book, and I prefer my stories to be more plot driven. That being said, it was still a beautiful, heart wrenching story. 4 stars.
