The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa

3.0

Through a simple story about a cat travelling to find a new owner, the book presents the life of Satoru, the cat's current owner, and his relationships with the people he chose as potential owners of his pet. I enjoyed the switching of the povs and, especially, Nana's. And, although the ending was sad, the book was cute overall and heartwarming.

However, even though we learned about Satoru throughout his adventures with Nana (the cat), in the end, it felt like we didn't really know him after all. He was a character serving the story and nothing else, no dreams, no thoughts, no personality really, other than being a cat lover and the epitome of a "good" person.

Other than that, the rest of the characters in the book were nicely presented and more human and realistic. The writing was excellent as well.
