Beggars in Spain by Nancy Kress
3.0
I wanted to like it more. And I did like the first section of the book (Leisha's infancy and coming-of-age as a Sleepless) quite a bit. But the rest of it sort of just churned along without regard for three-dimensionality of its characters or depth of plot - I felt like Kress was just trying to get from one spot to another. In that way, it reminded me a lot of [book: Red Mars].
