On Wings of Blood
by Briar Boleyn
For those of you going into this book thinking it is going to be reminiscent of fourth wing or zodiac academy I can tell you that is completely false. Literally the only thing that the series have in common is that they’re at some sort of magical school. I feel almost offended that those books are being marked to being similar to this one. I was bored like most of this book until it got till the last 90% of it where stuff was actually happening. For the first portion of the book we spend getting to know this world through the fmcs eyes which honestly i didn’t necessarily love and felt like it was done the best that it should have been. I also feel like the character development lacked a lot like i did not give two shits if anything happened to these characters none. Also the mmc was as stale as white bread when we finally got his perspective i was excited i was finally ready for things to pick up but it didn’t. The whole book read poorly for me and I can see the appeal of the idea I just feel like the execution and dialogue could have been better. There was also no tension or chemistry between the main characters like when they finally got together i didn’t care and just wanted to finish this damn book. I don’t think i will be continuing the series I have no desire too and I felt like the ending didn’t even want me to either. This book definitely felt predictable but not in a fun way.
