Lights Out was actually funny and definitely lighter than I expected for a dark romance. Most of the violence happens off-page so it’s a super easy summer read if you’re into kink but don’t need a heavy plot. That said, there’s not much attachment to the characters or investment in the storyline. The FMC’s comments on the MMC’s videos gave me such bad secondhand embarrassment, and the big reveal of the masked man to Aly fell flat for me. Overall, fun and quick but I wanted some depth.
