Strange Star
by Emma Carroll
The adults are truly awful in this story, which I enjoy. I was mildly disappointed about the length of the inset story, I would have liked Pt 3. to have continued for a little longer following Lizzie's recount. Though, I can appreciate that it keeps things short and concise for younger readers, and as Emma Carroll puts in the back, I hope that it does encourage them to read further into the life of Mary Shelly and the creation of Frankenstein.
This idea would have done just as wonderfully as fiction aimed at older readers, and I think that speaks as to the versatility of Carroll's writing. In all, very enjoyable.
