King of Envy
by Ana Huang
Genuinely, and I can’t stress this enough, I missed this from her. Like a batshit crazy plot with a morally grey character???? Please give me more. I actually think she’s more in her element writing plots like this than when she’s writing about businesses. I honestly skipped her last two books just because she keeps writing about industries and like people doing their job and I find that so boring. I want to read about a shootout that gets interrupted by our male characters cat scratching one of the villains eyes. How did the cat get there? How did he know who to attack? How did a tiny little kitten throw a main villain off so much that he threw away his gun to the side letting one of our main characters pick it up? we will never know and I like it that way This book is just filled with stuff that I actually want to read about. I was interested in the whole time. I cared about every aspect of the plot like there was no part that I felt bored during. Like this isn’t Shakespeare it’s not gonna change the world but it was very entertaining and the perfect book to help you through finals week. I’m really happy to see this type of book from Ana Huang again. I was worried we lost her to boring work related dialogue and corporate offices. But this was great. If there are fans of the original twisted series that haven’t quite gotten into the seven deadly sins series I think you guys should read this book. It’s very reminiscent of twisted love in the best way and pulled me out of a 5 month reading slump
